GQA Level 7 NVQ Diploma in Construction Senior Management (CSCS Qualification)

Purpose and Scope

The qualification is designed to:

  • Recognise the knowledge, skills, and competence demonstrated by individuals in senior construction management roles.
  • Enable professionals to validate their expertise in managing and leading construction projects.
  • Support progression to CSCS Black Card eligibility and MCIOB membership.

Entry Requirements

Must be in a senior management role within the construction industry.

Should have experience in:

  • Managing teams and projects
  • Strategic planning
  • Budgeting and procurement
  • Client engagement and organisational leadership

Content Overview

There are 10 mandatory units in Group A and then there are 2 pathways-Production and Commercial. In addition to the qualification mandatory units the following applies; candidates must complete the selected pathway mandatory unit and the required number of credits from the selected group of pathway optional units. The minimum total credit value of the qualification is 184 credits for the Production pathway and 179 credits for the Commercial pathway.

Duration

  • Flexible and work based.
  • Typically completed over 6–12 months, depending on experience and pace.
  • Fast-track options may be available for highly experienced professionals.

  • Work-based assessment (no classroom learning required).
  • Evidence-based portfolio compiled with support from an assessor.

Assessment

Competency-based via observation, professional discussion, work product evidence, and reflective accounts. No exams or written assignments.
