Mental Health Awareness for CITB-Registered Levy-Exempt Employers

Purpose & Scope

To provide candidates with the knowledge to recognise early signs of mental health issues and initiate supportive conversations in the workplace.

Content Overview

  • Positive, confident, and respectful communication about mental health
  • Understanding mental health and related issues: depression, anxiety, psychosis, eating disorders, suicide, and self-harm
  • Factors affecting mental health, including stress
  • Recognising and responding to early warning signs
  • Reducing stigma and discrimination
  • Maintaining personal mental wellbeing
  • Using tools like Take 10 Together to start conversations
  • Awareness of support resources and information

Duration

Minimum: 3 hours (half-day)

Target Audience

Operatives and supervisors in the construction sector

  • Online or classroom-based

Renewal & Refresher

  • No mandatory renewal or refresher required

Assessment

Trainer must confirm all learning outcomes are met
