Purpose & Scope

This programme equips learners with essential knowledge and practical skills to recognise signs of suicide, engage in supportive conversations, and provide immediate intervention. It builds confidence to act in crisis situations and connect individuals to appropriate help, promoting a culture of awareness and support in both workplace and personal settings.

Key Learning Outcomes

Participants will be able to:

    • Understand causes and risk factors of suicide
    • Recognise verbal, behavioural, and situational warning signs
    • Communicate sensitively and supportively
    • Apply immediate intervention strategies and refer to appropriate services
    • Navigate ethical considerations, including confidentiality and self-care

Renewal & Refresher

  • Every 25 months
  • 7-month grace period
  • Review every 5 years or on request

Duration

4 hours (half-day)

Target Audience

  • Anyone in a supportive role, including healthcare workers, educators, HR professionals, community leaders, and social workers
  • No prior mental health experience required
